I'm having the same problem as well, on SOME devices.

Other reports were already issued, and the best solution is to fully uninstall the app, reinstall and reconnect. For some reason some devices keep the cache, and cause issues.

The message about the missing data is incorrect, since those are sent to the client.

This was very helpful. Tho may not require full uninstall of the App.
In my case I did:

1. Long press app icon to get to App Info,
2. Force Stop app
3. go to Storage & Cache,
4. Clear both
5. Login again (works)

I have the same issue on a Pixel 8a, uninstalling and reinstalling does not fixes the issue. The only way I was able to get in was downgrading the app to 2025.12.0.

Than you probably do not have the latest Vaultwarden installed which has the correct fixes.

First check the /admin/diagnostics page for reported issues.

Same also happens on iOS with latest Home Assistant addon - edit: this is the culprit. It is running 1.34.3 instead of 1.35.2.

The suggested fix doesn't work for me either (Pixel 8, GrapheneOS) and people referring to "the latest Vaultwarden version" sadly isn't helpful. Please be specific about which version of Vaultwarden should be running for this to work. I have the latest version as in latest-alpine which appears to be 1.35.2. I did not test testing-alpine, however, in case this is meant by latest version, and I would not be comfortable to use a testing-release.

latest is the current latest as in the version listed on the releases page at the top.
As mentioned for all other users, enable Flight Recorder and see which error you receive in the log it will generate.
That should provide enough detailed information where it is going wrong.

Have same issue on my Sony Xperia J9210, downgrade to 2025.12 didn't help. One version older -- helped.

Jumping to the ':testing' track resolved this issue for me. I suggest backing up your vaults, changing your 'docker-compose.yml' file to point to:

and perform 'docker compose up -d' to pull the test version.

Keep an eye out for the testing to be pushed to latest, and change your 'docker-compose.yml' file to point back to ':latest'

Bug Report Outline: Bitwarden Android logs out unexpectedly on self-hosted Vaultwarden when token refresh fails (HTTP 403)

Summary
App logs out instead of staying locked + using cached vault when token refresh returns 403 (common offline/self-hosted scenario).

Environment

• App: Bitwarden Android 2026.1.1 (21176) release/standard
• OS: Android 16
• Device: Samsung SM-F966U
• Server: Self-hosted Vaultwarden (not internet accessible, local network only)
• Timeout action: Lock (not Log out)
• Vault timeout: Never / long

Steps to Reproduce

1. Use app on self-hosted instance.
2. Go offline or have temporary network drop.
3. App attempts token refresh → receives 403.
4. App forces full logout instead of falling back to locked state + cache.

Expected Behavior
App should remain locked (using cached vault data) and allow biometric/master password unlock without forcing logout.

Actual Behavior
Immediate forced logout (reason=RefreshForbidden), requires full re-login when network returns.

Additional Notes

• Happens randomly, especially with flaky local Wi-Fi or offline periods.
• Previously (older versions?) app stayed logged in / locked reliably.
• Vault remains usable offline only after manual re-login.
• I purposely dont expose VaultWarden to the internet so I rely on being able to cache. I can relogin while out via VPN for now but its far from ideal.
• Vaultwarden running from Unraid Docker on the latest available version

And that is good. But the conditions you are mention is that if the server is not working or not reachable.
How do you expect Vaultwarden to solve a client side issue? Vaultwarden is server side only.
We do not develop or maintain any client, including the web-vault.

So, your specific use case is not solvable by this project.

Okay so its a client side issue, I will roll back. Few versions then. It just previously worked without issue. I could access the cached vault at all points.

i have the same issue: the andoid-app will not connect to my vw instance (latest docker behind apache reverse-proxy with letsencrypt certificates.) I tested all versions from 2025.12 in frdoid to the lastest (2026.02) from bitwarden directly.
I strongly suspect this to be a problem with the andoid-app itself (or the underlying android-os (in my case lineage-microg)): upon entering the creds into the app it immediately shows a "certificate or proxy error" but not once does it try to connect to my server. I checked the reverse proxy's access and error logs and there were NO requests from the app, but many when i opened vaultwarden-web with the browser on the phone at the same time.
