Add option to cache whole installation

We could add an experimental option to test it again.

It was disabled some years ago because of: #61

Compared to the package cache, the installation cache isn't signed/verified, which means the cache can be used for cache poisoning. So we should not enable it by default, even if it works, at least not without a major version bump.
