Plugin Fix Summary: business-analytics

Date: 2026-01-14 | Status: ✓ Fixed | Plugin: business-analytics@claude-code-workflows v1.2.1

Problem

The business-analytics plugin failed validation due to missing required structure files from upstream distribution.

Symptoms:

  • Plugin enabled but non-functional
  • Commands, skills, and agents not loading
  • /doctor validation failures

Root Cause: Upstream marketplace plugin incomplete - missing:

  • .claude-plugin/plugin.json (manifest)
  • README.md (documentation)
  • commands/ directory (slash commands)
  • .gitignore (development hygiene)

Solution

Created missing files in cached plugin directory:

~/.claude/plugins/cache/claude-code-workflows/business-analytics/1.2.1/

  4. .gitignore (2026-01-14 12:35) - Development hygiene

Validation

# Verify structure

# Test command

# Check logs

  • Issue: Missing required plugin scaffolding files
  • Request: Add complete structure before marketplace publication

Before enabling new plugins:

After enabling:

Impact

Before Fix: Plugin completely non-functional despite being "enabled"

After Fix:

  • ✓ 2 skills active (kpi-dashboard-design, data-storytelling)
  • ✓ 1 command available (/business-analytics:analyze-metrics)
  • ✓ 1 agent operational (business-analyst)
  • ✓ Plugin passes validation checks

Technical Notes

Why this works: Claude Code loads plugins from cache directory (~/.claude/plugins/cache/), not marketplace. Fixing cache files intercepts load failures.

Persistence: Fix persists until plugin reinstall/update or cache clear.

Similar issues: Other marketplace plugins may have same structural gaps. Use validation workflow above.
