Description of the feature, modification, idea or suggestion
Hi devs,
Please add hardware monitoring and fan speed control for the AMD Strix Halo APU platform (Ryzen AI MAX, Zen 5 / RDNA 3.5) to System Informer. OEM utilities are bulky and lack native optimization; a built‑in solution would let users drop them.
The main Strix Halo boards (GMKtec EVO‑X2, Bosgame M5, FEVM FA‑EX9) use the Sixunited AXB35‑02 design. The EC space has already been reverse‑engineered; see the Windows repo deseven/ec‑su_axb35‑win (WinRing0) and the Linux driver cmetz/ec‑su_axb35‑linux.
We need:
- Exposure of thermal and power metrics in the System Information panels.
- Reading of fan RPM via the AXB35 EC registers.
- Direct fan control: switch between Auto, Fixed and custom curves, and allow manual duty‑cycle overrides (0‑5 or raw hex values).
Integrating this low‑level telemetry and control into System Informer’s kernel driver would greatly benefit users of high‑end AMD APU systems.
Thanks for your work!
