I created this Malay Quran translation site in 2016 using jQuery, W3.CSS, and JSON - during the peak popularity of jQuery. It's a purely static website without any backend - all data is stored in JSON files and rendered client-side.
It was originally built as a simple hobby project. At that time, jQuery was everywhere, while React, Vue, and Tailwind were still growing. Today, jQuery is considered legacy code - with ES6 and TypeScript, we no longer need jQuery for most tasks.
