MA Linguistics candidate at Brigham Young University (graduating April 2026), with a focus on computational linguistics, NLP, and machine learning. I enjoy working at the intersection of language and data β whether that means fine-tuning translation models for low-resource languages or building statistical pipelines in R and Python.
Skills & tools I work with:
- π Python & R β data wrangling, statistical modeling, scripting
- π€ NLP & ML β Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, scikit-learn, sequence modeling
- π Statistical Modeling β regression (OLS, GLMs, mixed models), model selection, hypothesis testing
- π’ Data Analysis β pandas, tidyverse, visualization, experimental design
Current work: My thesis investigates low-resource machine translation for Georgian (α₯αα αα£αα), comparing fine-tuned NLLB-200 and curriculum-pretrained LLaMA 3.2 models evaluated with COMET.
I'm actively looking for roles in Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Business Analysis, or AI/ML Engineering where I can apply my background in language, modeling, and software to real-world problems.
